Leaping into the freight business and expanding multiple software offerings is a complex task - even if you do have experience in the industry. Co-founder/CEO Felipe Capella didn't.
Felipe practiced law before launching Loadsmart in 2014, garnering investors like Maersk, BlackRock and Softbank. The leading platform now offers instant equipment bookings, outsourced transportation, and shipper management software.
But when Loadsmart first launched, Felipe had no experience in the freight industry. Loadsmart made plenty of mistakes, and it took the company a year to come up with their first prototype.
But their fledgling mentality gave them courage and an outsider's innovative perspective. Over time, they would disrupt this well-established sector.
